Casey L. Harmon
Deputy Chief of Staff
Casey L. Harmon is the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Texas Tech University System Office of the Chancellor. In her position, she assists the Chief of Staff in the administration of the daily operations of the Chancellor’s office. She also supports the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs in relation to enrollment growth goals at the component institutions, as well as maintaining the System Strategic Plan, Leading the Way.
Previously, Harmon served as Special Assistant for System Relations and Strategic Initiatives. In that role, she facilitated campus tours and briefings for state and federal officials, and planned special events for the Chancellor’s office and the Board of Regents.
Prior to her role in the Chancellor’s office, Harmon worked at Lubbock Economic Development Alliance where she coordinated conferences, site-selector visits and meetings covering important topics for the West Texas region such as workforce development, agriculture, wind energy, manufacturing and transportation.
Harmon grew up in Amherst, Texas, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 2006, where she received a Bachelor of Science in agricultural communications and served as Internal Vice President and President of the Student Senate for the Student Government Association.
She is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Texas and was named one of Lubbock’s “Top Twenty Under 40” in 2010. In 2012, she was selected to be a Next Generation Project Texas Fellow by the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas at Austin. Harmon also serves as a board member for the Young Professionals of Greater Lubbock and the Lubbock Independent School District Partners in Education.
