Texas Gov. Rick Perry was on campus to officially announce a $9 million dollar reseach package for the College of Engineering. The package includes a $5.35 million gift from AT&T, $2 million investment from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund and $2 million from the university to attract a team of faculty researchers in the field of nanophotonics.
