Description
The project will renovate a seven-story structure constructed in the mid-1980's located in the Parkland Memorial Hospital District in Dallas, Texas. The facility, located at 5920 Forest Park Road on approximately 1.147 acres of land was purchased by the TTUHSC in November 2019. The building is composed of an open concrete structure (basement + first three levels parking garage), levels 4 and 5 partial occupied space + parking decks, and, levels 6 and 7 educational space for the SOP and SON. Net usable square footage consists of approximately 63,000 GSF. All defined renovation work is to be conducted with the facility occupied. The scope of the project may include, to extent allowable by the project budget, (1) remediation of the exterior building envelope to stop water intrustion; (2) addition of a third fire stair to accommodate High Rise Classification for Mixed Occupancy (Assembly A3 + Business); (3) 7th level renovations for the addition of Classrooms, Offices, Student Synergistic Center, Conference Room, new public restrooms and support spaces. The project may also include, to extents allowable by the project budget, repair/replacement of mechanical, electrical and plumbed building systems; modifications and/or replacement of existing life/safety systems and mitigation of potential identified hazardous materials.
