CIO Council
The CIO Council plays an important role in advancing the technology objectives of the Texas Tech University System. This Council is made up of the Chief Information Officers of Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and the executive IT administration for both institutions. Based on a shared governance model, the role of the CIO Council is primarily strategic oversight of the three entities that comprise the Texas Tech University System.
The scope of the Council's Responsibilities include:
- set strategic priorities that aligns technology with Texas Tech's mission and goals
- develop public/private partnerships
- coordinate the information and operation of governance councils
- ensure institutional collaboration
- develop standards and policies that facilitate the creation of an integrated information environment
- coordinate the governance of shared IT services throughout Texas Tech
- coordinate Texas Tech's role in IT-related public policy processes
- manage the planning and design of all telecommunications networks
