• TO CALL WITHIN THE SYSTEM (742- and 743-): Dial last 5 digits of telephone number.
  
  
• TO CALL LOCAL LUBBOCK TELEPHONE NUMBER: Dial 9 + 7-digit number.
  
  
• TO CALL:
  • Amarillo: Dial 881 + 10-Digit Phone Number.
  • El Paso: Dial 881 + 10-Digit Phone Number.
  • Odessa: Dial 881 + 10-Digit Phone Number.
    
    
• TO CALL LONG DISTANCE: Dial 88 + 1 + area Code + 7-digit number.
  
  
• TO MAKE INTERNATIONAL CALLS: Dial 88 + 011 + Country Code + City Code + 7-Digit Number.
  
  
• THREE-WAY CONFERENCE CALLING:
  To establish a three-way conversation, tell the person you are talking to that you are putting them on hold while you add a third party.
  1. Depress switch hook momentarily, or press the link button on Norstar system.
  2. Wait for dial tone.
  3. Dial third party's number.
  4. Depress switch hook momentarily, or press the link button on Norstar system.
  5. The first party is added. Resume conversation among all three parties.
     
     

How To Operate Certain Administrative Telephone Features If The Telephone Line Is So Equipped:

• CALL FORWARDING (if feature exists on telephone line):
  • To forward calls from one number to another:
    1. Dial 181. (Dial-tone is returned.)
    2. Dial number (x-xxxx) to which calls are to be forwarded. Listen for two rapid tones followed by ringing. Tell answering party that you are forwarding your calls to that number. If the called number is busy or does not answer, Call Forwarding will automatically go into effect. Simply hang up.
  • To cancel Call Forwarding:
    1. Dial 182. (Listen for two rapid tones followed by steady tone.)
    2. Hang up.
