  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Deployment

    TTU and TTUHSC are going through a major upgrade for voice communications. VoIP is being deployed for all Texas Tech campuses. In some cases Microsoft Lync unified communications is being utilized and in others an Avaya VoIP infrastructure intergrade with Microsoft Lync is being deployed. This has been a multi-year project and if your department has not transitioned yet it will happen no later than August 31, 2015. For additional information, please call 742-2000.

As part of the Texas Tech University System, Communication Services maintains a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) infrastructure to provide telephone services for Texas Tech entities. The VoIP system seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Lync unified communications to provide enhanced voice and conferencing functionality. Communication Services also hosts one of the leading contact center solutions which currently supports more than 40 call centers in TTUHSC clinics located in Amarillo, El Paso, Midland/Odessa, and Lubbock. In addition Communication Services continues to support the legacy telephone infrastructure, all university owned cellular voice and data devices, and 800mhz radio infrastructure.
