VMware Hosted Solution
Server virtualization is a technology that can benefit any department
that may need the flexibility provided by owning their own server. Many departments
on campus currently use TOSM’s VMware virtualization solutions to reduce IT costs
while increasing the efficiency, utilization and flexibility of their existing computer
hardware.
TOSM currently operates a virtual server infrastructure that is capable of handling up to a maximum of
148 virtual servers on four physical host servers using VMware’s vSphere Server technology.
Some of the benefits of having a virtual server over a physical server are hardware
redundancy, automatic fail-over and associated lower costs.
