On March 1, Chancellor Hance announced M. Duane Nellis, Ph.D., as the sole finalist for the Texas Tech University presidency. State law requires 21 days must pass before final action is taken by a university governing body for the appointment of a president.
The president is the chief executive officer of the university and is responsible for the executive management of its operations. The president provides overall leadership in the planning and management of the academic, research, international, service, fiscal, administrative, operational and auxiliary enterprise mission of Texas Tech University.
