Texas Tech President Advisory Council
The Advisory Council consists of 26 members and serves as a larger representation of Texas Tech’s constituencies, including faculty, administration, staff, students and community members.
Under the direction and guidance of the Search Committee, the Advisory Council will also help identify potential candidates, assist with initial screenings of candidates and ensure that their respective constituency groups are kept up-to-date on the progress of the search.

Advisory Council's Charge
The Advisory Council to the TTU President Search Committee (“Advisory Council”) is charged with the following duties and responsibilities:
Each member of the Advisory Council serves at the will of the Chancellor and the chairperson of the Search Committee, and at all times the Advisory Council will work under the direction and guidance of the Search Committee.
The Advisory Council will assist the Search Committee through the following:
- Help identify prospects and applicants for the position to ensure that the search casts a wide net in its efforts to identify suitable candidates.
- Conduct initial screenings of applicants to help the Search Committee identify individuals who may be deserving of further consideration.
- Ensure that the constituent groups represented by the members of the Advisory Council are advised of the efforts being employed to develop a strong pool of acceptable candidates … all within the confines of a Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreement that must be observed with respect to prospects and candidates as well as other aspects of the search process.
- Provide such other assistance as may be requested by the Search Committee.
