Kristyn Sorensen
Assistant General Counsel
Kristyn U. Sorensen is an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at the Texas Tech University System and primarily assists with contracting and research matters and litigation support.
Kristyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Texas, Austin; a Master of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Arizona; a Doctorate of Philosophy in Toxicology from Texas Tech University; and her law degree, cum laude with a Science, Engineering and Technology Concentration distinction, from Texas Tech University. During law school, Kristyn served as the editor in chief of the Journal of Biosecurity, Biosafety, and Biodefense Law and as an editor for the Texas Bank Lawyer publication. After graduation from law school, Kristyn practiced in the Lubbock firm of Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam, LLP in civil litigation for both state, federal, and administrative matters, including § 1983 actions, governmental defense, wrongful death, and appeals.
Kristyn is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She currently serves on the board for Voice of Hope, a Lubbock non-profit organization.
