Welcome to Chancellor's Council
Educating tomorrow’s leaders, making new discoveries and serving the people of Texas are at the heart of what we do on the campuses of the Texas Tech University System. The Chancellor’s Council plays a major role in enabling us to accomplish this important work by providing funds for:
- Scholarships for students each year
- Research and other academic programs for our faculty
- Support ensuring the highest level of excellence on our campuses
The Chancellor’s Council was established originally as a President’s Council to recognize our key supporters, who understand that their support is essential to Texas Tech achieving its goals. The President’s Council changed its name in 1996 to reflect the addition of a Chancellor to the Texas Tech family. Today, our loyal friends continue to support excellence at Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
For more than 35 years, members of this elite group have been instrumental in ensuring Texas Tech’s success by giving to a multitude of programs. In fall 2005, our members will provide over 40 scholarships to honors students at both the University and Health Sciences Center. Additional scholarships will be awarded to veterans or family members of veterans and to a student in the Women’s Studies Program.
