The Information Systems department of the Texas Tech University System is responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and support of enterprise applications shared across Texas Tech components: Texas Tech University System, Texas Tech University , and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

From 2005 through 2009 TTUS Information Systems, along with other Texas Tech information technology entities and many functional leaders, completed the largest information technology project Texas Tech has ever undertaken, ConnecTech. This project replaced and upgraded the legacy administrative computer applications used by students, faculty, and staff with the Banner suite of products from Ellucian.

In addition to the Banner ERP suite of student, student financial aid, finance, human resources, payroll, and budget systems, TTUS Information Systems supports more than twenty other applications which complete a unified digital campus solution. Among these are the Operational Data Store (ODS) data warehouse, Luminis portal, Xtender Document Imaging, SciQuest eprocurement, and Cognos reporting.

Using emerging technologies, TTUS Information Systems also develops standalone systems and bolt-ons to the Banner applications to meet additional needs at Texas Tech. Among the systems TTU Information Systems has developed in-house are Scholarship, Vehicle Operator System, and Departmental Directory. The most commonly used Banner bolt-on is the Gateway, which processes financial and human resources transactions from many sources across the Texas Tech campuses. Several mobile applications are among newer bolt-ons.

With the help of the Enterprise Application Council, Information Systems manages staff resources to meet enterprise systems programming needs with a strategy called PRISM.
