Mickey L. Long
Mr. Mickey Long of Midland was appointed to the Board of Regents of the Texas Tech University System on February 6, 2009. Mr. Long is currently a member of the Audit Committee and serves as vice chair of the Board of Trustees of the Carr Scholarship Foundation. His term expires on January 31, 2015.
Mickey L. Long is president of Westex/WLP Well Service, L.P. in Midland. Mr. Long received his Bachelors of Science degree from Angelo State University in 1976.
He is a member of the Association of Energy Service Companies and the Texas Tech University Hall of Legacy. Before being named a member of the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents, Mickey was an active member of the Texas Tech University Foundation, San Angelo State University Alumni Foundation, and the Red Raider Club National Board of Directors. Mickey is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Midland, Texas.
Mr. Long is married to Rhonda Renee Long, a 1976 graduate of the Angelo State University’s College of Education. They have two daughters: Amy (Texas Tech 1999) and son-in-law Brad King; and Andrea (Texas Tech 2003) and son-in-law Christopher Tirey. They have one granddaughter, Katherine Grace King.
