Safe Return Plans for the TTU System Administration

Comprehensive document for TTU System Administration employees to provide guidance and capture the various aspects of our safe return-to-office plans for the TTU System Building and our work locations.

TTUSA:  Our Commitment

Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., issued Wednesday (June 24) the following update to the Texas Tech University System Administration on the recently announced system-wide facial coverings policy.

Letter from Chancellor Mitchell:

Dear Texas Tech University System Administration family,

I hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy and enjoying the summer safely with loved ones.

Earlier today, I shared a new system-wide policy on the requirement of protective facial coverings with our university presidents and vice chancellors. I also wanted to let you know about this update as we continue our safe return to campus and work locations.

Developed with input from our system-wide COVID-19 pandemic response working group and support from our university presidents, we wanted to take additional precautions to protect our team members and campus communities. Wearing a mask not only helps protect you, but also those around you, helping save lives.

We will be updating our signage around the System Building to reflect this change, and I also ask you keep this policy in mind when scheduling and conducting meetings within our work locations. Visitors should be notified in advance so they can prepare to wear a face covering onsite in our facilities.

It is of the utmost importance that our System Administration, alongside our universities, works together and focuses on our shared values to respect the health and safety of our community. This policy falls directly in line with our commitment to a safe return to the System Building and our work locations — and I thank you all in advance for your help and cooperation with this important precaution.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your department supervisors or respective vice chancellors. I hope everyone is well.

Warmest regards,

Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D.
Chancellor, Texas Tech University System
