A Message from Regent Ginger Kerrick Davis – Special-Called BOR Meeting

Dear Midwestern State University family,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and enjoying your summer. As we approach a significant milestone in our search for a new president of Midwestern State University, I would like to express my gratitude and share an update on our progress.
First and foremost, I share my appreciation to our stakeholders, faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members who have supported and participated throughout this process. Your dedication to MSU Texas has helped make this transition and search a resounding success, with input, insights and engagement that ensured a multitude of perspectives on MSU Texas and its future.
Earlier this month, the search committee vetted numerous exceptional candidates for the position of president and provided its recommendations to Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D. Since then, additional interviews and discussions have been conducted with the chancellor and leadership throughout the Texas Tech University System based on the committee’s recommendations.
At 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, a meeting of the TTU System Board of Regents will be held to discuss the presidential search. The meeting will be held via teleconference, and I encourage you to watch the livestream.
Following the board meeting, we will share next steps and any news related to the presidential search with the MSU Texas family.
To each and every member of the search committee, I extend my deepest appreciation for your efforts, dedication and service. You have upheld the university’s values and principles of excellence during this process, and MSU Texas is better for it. Together, we found candidates who align with the deepest values and highest aspirations of MSU Texas. I am proud to have worked with all of you.
Again, thank you to all who have helped throughout this search and transition. We look forward to sharing news about the sole finalist and celebrating the appointment of the next president of MSU Texas alongside all of you.
