Texas Tech University and Angelo State University have been named among the “Top 10 Online Colleges in Texas” by BestSchools.com, an online college guide for prospective students that ranks and profiles online schools and academic programs in all 50 states.
Overall, Texas Tech University ranked No. 2 and Angelo State University ranked No. 3 on the list of top online colleges in Texas behind only the University of Houston. Duncan said. "Congratulations to both of our great universities on this recognition and their innovative efforts to deliver a first-class, online academic experience."
The actual data for the rankings is collected through interviews with school administrators and faculty. Criteria includes each school’s online program history, how the program and courses are developed, who teaches the online courses, what strategies are in place to ensure a quality student experience, and the vision for long-term growth.

Their 59 percent graduation rate [online] and outstanding 81 percent retention rate [online] place them at the top of the list in those categories for the state of Texas. Additionally, "...Their placement on the Forbes list backs up our impression that they’re a solid choice for students interested in getting a good ROI."
