A Message from Regent Ginger Kerrick Davis – Screening Interviews

Dear Midwestern State University family,
I hope you are doing well and enjoying the start of summer.
A couple weeks ago, I provided an update on the progress we’ve made in our search for the next president of Midwestern State University and our plans to begin interviewing leaders for this incredible opportunity.
I’m pleased to share that after interviewing several experienced and accomplished candidates, the committee has reached a consensus and has delivered recommendations to Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D. and to the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents for their review. Our committee was extremely pleased with the quality and experience of the candidates we interviewed and wholeheartedly endorses the candidates who have moved forward in the process.
I want to sincerely thank the search committee members for their time, effort and attention to detail throughout the search process. Each committee member brought forward a unique and valuable perspective and I appreciate the constructive discussion and debate that led to our recommendations.
The Midwestern State University Presidential Search Committee has now completed its work, and the next step is for Chancellor Mitchell to review the committee’s recommendations and conduct interviews soon. Official action, after consideration of a recommendation from the Chancellor, will be taken by the full board. This action will be followed by the announcement of a sole finalist for the president of MSU Texas.
Our goal is to have a sole finalist announced by the end of this month followed by an official appointment and announcement of the next MSU Texas president in July. We remain committed to finding the next great leader of this proud and cherished institution who will champion the tremendous momentum that has been established and help elevate MSU Texas in the future.
