With 65,985 students enrolled across its five component universities, the Texas Tech University System (TTU System) has achieved its third consecutive year of record enrollment and its sixth record in seven years, continuing a pattern of sustained growth.
Texas Tech University (TTU), Angelo State University (ASU), and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (Texas Tech Health El Paso) each set new institutional enrollment records. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) recorded its second-highest enrollment total in history, a 4.6% increase from fall 2024.
These accomplishments highlight the TTU System’s continued growth and prominence, enhancing each university’s ability to attract top faculty and students and solidifying its position among the nation’s leading institutions.
A key driver of this momentum is the record number of first-time college students. Midwestern State University (MSU Texas) welcomed a record incoming class of 973 first-time, full-time students, a 5.2% increase from fall 2024. At TTU, more than 7,600 first-time-in-college students enrolled this fall, an 11.7% increase from 2024 and the largest first-time class in the university’s history, surpassing the previous record set in 2023.
“This record enrollment reflects the confidence that students and families place in the Texas Tech University System and the transformational opportunities our universities provide,” said Brandon Creighton, chancellor of the TTU System. “Across Texas and the nation, our institutions continue to deliver at the highest levels — expanding access, strengthening the workforce, and delivering degrees of high value for in-demand jobs. I commend our university leadership, faculty, and campus personnel for their unwavering dedication to student success and for positioning the TTU System to reach its unmatched potential.”
The previous systemwide enrollment record of 64,022 students was set during the 2024-25 academic year.
