Great Colleges to Work For 2026 - TTU & ASUTexas Tech University (Texas Tech) and Angelo State University (Angelo State), member institutions of the Texas Tech University System (TTU System), have earned recognition in the 2026 Great Colleges to Work For® program, continuing a tradition of national honors for their workplace cultures.

Both universities are among 76 institutions recognized nationwide through the program, which evaluates workplace policies and practices and places primary emphasis on employee feedback.

“Our people are the foundation of everything we accomplish across the Texas Tech University System,” said Chancellor Brandon Creighton. “This recognition is a credit to the leadership of President Schovanec and President Hawkins and to the faculty and staff who make their universities exceptional places to work and learn. When we invest in our people and create environments where they can succeed, we strengthen our ability to serve students, advance discovery and meet the needs of Texas.”

Texas Tech earned the designation for the sixth consecutive year and the eighth time since 2014. The university was recognized in two categories: compensation and benefits, and professional development. Texas Tech was also one of only three Big 12 Conference institutions on the 2026 list.

Angelo State received the designation and a place on the program’s Honor Roll for the 12th consecutive year. Only 42 institutions nationwide earned Honor Roll status.

Angelo State earned recognition in six categories: job satisfaction and support; faculty and staff well-being; mission and pride; compensation and benefits; supervisor/department chair effectiveness; and professional development.

The Great Colleges to Work For® program uses a two-part assessment that combines an institutional questionnaire on employment data and workplace policies with a survey of faculty, staff and administrators. ModernThink, an organizational development firm, conducts the recognition analysis.

The recognition is a source of pride for the TTU System, celebrating the faculty and staff whose daily contributions shape our university communities. Their dedication to students and colleagues continues to strengthen the System’s impact across Texas and beyond.
