Dear Midwestern State University family,

As this month gets underway, I hope this note finds you well as we near the midpoint of the spring semester.

I write to you today to share we are also near the endpoint of our national search for the next president of MSU Texas and will be in Wichita Falls next Monday (March 7) to share an important update. As you know from our previous communications, our MSU Texas Presidential Search committee sourced and screened more than 60 candidate applications, conducted several interviews and last month, made recommendations to Texas Tech University System Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D. Since then, Chancellor Mitchell and leadership throughout the TTU System have completed additional interviews and screenings based on the committee’s recommendations.

At 11 a.m. Monday, the Board of Regents will hold a special-called meeting to discuss action items and next steps for the presidential search. The meeting will be held via teleconference, and I encourage you to watch the livestream.

In anticipation of action from the board, I invite you to an on-campus reception following the meeting at noon in the Clark Student Center Comanche Suites. I will be joined by Chancellor Mitchell, Board of Regents Chairman J. Michael Lewis and members of the search committee, and we will share the latest progress in the search for the 12th President in the 100-year history of the university.

We look forward to spending time with you and sharing an update on what we feel has been a thoughtful, thorough and dedicated process by all those involved. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out through the MSU Texas Presidential Search email: ttus.msutexas.pressearch@ttu.edu.

Thank you again for your continued dedication and support of Midwestern State University.

Sincerely,

Mark Griffin
Chairman, MSU Texas Presidential Search
Vice Chairman, Texas Tech University System Board of Regents
