Texas Tech University System Regents to Meet Feb. 23-24 in Odessa

The Board of Regents is composed of nine members appointed by the governor, as well as a student regent.

Throughout the history of the TTU System, the board has been composed of distinguished and dedicated Texans who have been strong advocates of excellence in academic and patient care programs, meaningful scientific research and responsible public service.

Regents will have a two-day meeting in Odessa on the campus of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Odessa.

The Texas Tech University System (TTU System) Board of Regents will meet Thursday and Friday (Feb. 23-24) in Odessa on the campus of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Odessa. The meeting will take place in the Academic Classroom Building (Room 101), First Floor, J’Nevelyn and Larry Melton Conference Center (800 W. 4th St.).

This marks the second time a regularly scheduled Board of Regents meeting will be held in Odessa and the first since 2002. The board’s first meeting at a non-Lubbock campus was in the Permian Basin in Midland in 1999. Total, the board has held three regularly scheduled meetings at TTUHSC campus locations the past 10 years, including 2013 (Abilene), 2020 (Amarillo) and now Odessa.

Overall, there have been 15 regularly scheduled board meetings held outside of Lubbock at TTU System campus locations since 1999, including this meeting in Odessa.

Thursday, Feb. 23

9:00 a.m. – Finance and Investments Committee

9:30 a.m. – Academic, Clinical and Student Affairs Committee

10:15 a.m. – Audit Committee

10:30 p.m. – Facilities Committee

11:05 a.m. – Call to order; convene as Meeting of the Board and Committee of the Whole Board

11:45 a.m. – Executive Session

4:00 p.m. – Following Executive Session, reconvene into Open Session as Committee of the Whole

4:05 p.m. – Recess

Friday, Feb. 24

8:30 a.m. – Call to order; reconvene as Meeting of the Board and Committee of the Whole Board

10:30 a.m. – Executive Session, if necessary

11:20 a.m. – Following Executive Session, reconvene into Open Session as Committee of the Whole

11:30 a.m. – Adjournment
