The Texas Tech University System (TTU System) announced today (Feb. 11, 2026) the appointment of Teresa Jack, CPA, as chief audit executive, effective March 1. The decision follows a comprehensive search conducted by the TTU System Board of Regents’ Chief Audit Executive Search Committee and external firm Anthem Executive.

Jack has served as acting chief audit executive at the TTU System since April 2025. In her new role, she will continue to lead the TTU System Office of Audit Services, which evaluates and improves the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes across all system institutions by providing independent, objective assurance and management advisory services.

“Teresa has proven herself to be a capable and respected leader throughout this process,” said Regent Pat Gordon, chair of the Audit Committee and chair of the Chief Audit Executive Search Committee. “We are confident this appointment best serves the long-term interests of the Texas Tech University System and its component institutions. I want to express my sincere appreciation for the members of the search committee whose diligence and service made this outcome possible.”

Jack is an accomplished auditor with more than 26 years of experience. She began working for the TTU System in 2001 as a senior audit manager and, over the past 24 years, has expanded her experience while progressing into leadership roles. Before joining the TTU System, she held audit and accounting positions at Robinson Burdette Martin Seright & Burrows LLP and Furr’s/Bishops Inc. in Lubbock.

Jack is a Texas Tech alumna, earning both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting in 1998. She is a member of the Texas Association of College & University Auditors, serving on the board of directors from 2020-21 and as board secretary from 2021-23.

“We are excited to have Teresa continue leading the Office of Audit Services for the TTU System,” said Chancellor Brandon Creighton. “Her professionalism and institutional knowledge have been invaluable, and I am confident she will continue to provide strong, principled leadership in support of the system’s mission.”
