Ryder Smith
Assistant General Counsel
Ryder Smith is an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at the Texas Tech University System, having joined the office in 2020.
In his role, Ryder advises on a broad scope of matters in higher education law, including contracting, First Amendment and free speech, employment and personnel matters, student affairs, intercollegiate athletics and policy drafting and review.
He received his bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
