Writing Guidelines
In order to present the Texas Tech University System to the world as a quality institution, the system's publications and written material also must be of the highest quality. Adherence to a consistent editorial style is essential to maintaining the system's stature.
Printed materials should speak with one voice, present messages clearly and communicate the TTU System message and image precisely. Editors should exercise great care to proofread copy and to check spelling.
Style Guide for Writers
The AP Stylebook should be used as a basic style guide. In certain instances, however, journalistic style is not appropriate for university publications. In those cases, it is appropriate to distinguish between "Media Style," which follows AP Style, and "Publications Style," which follows a more formal academic style.
